Communication Major — Nature Lover — Adventurer — Young at Heart
I’m a Communication major and an educator—and a country girl living in southeast Florida. I grew up in a small rural town in northeast Vermont, where I spent my childhood climbing, hiking, fishing, and otherwise adventuring.
I moved to Florida over thirty years ago seeking warmth and sunshine, and I’ve spent a good part of my time here searching for the Northeast in the Southeast. For years, I scouted antique shops and bed and breakfasts looking for charm, nature, and niches. Along the way, I happened upon Florida’s beautiful and secluded rivers and parks.
I am less than one year away from retirement and looking forward to whatever life has for me. I’d like to paddle even more Florida rivers, bike or hike all the Florida State Parks, and even venture out of the state for day hikes on the Appalachian Trail. Heck, I may even learn how to cook! There is so much yet to discover!
